Sunday proved to be an emotional night at the 2014 Tony Awards honoring Broadway's best and brightest stars.

According to Us Weekly, the event was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris at New York City's Radio City Music Hall on June 8th.

Not only did the long time host snag his very first award for "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" but Broadway legend Audra McDonald also matched Julie Harris' record for six Tony Awards.

"Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston also won his first Tony ever for his role as President Lyndon B. Johnson in the play "All the Way."
