Despite their extravagant wedding it looks like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' honeymoon wasn't as romantic as we expected.

The hot actor recently revealed that he and his "Gossip Girl" wife left their warm vacation spot for freezing temperatures for a movie he was filming.

According to E! News, the 37-year-old actor admitted that in order to shoot "The Captive" he had to cut his honeymoon short.

While at the film's press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday he explained, "I dragged my wife from our honeymoon in Africa and landed her in Ontario, Canada, when it was minus-40 degrees."

The Canada native confessed that one of the most difficult parts if the trip was when the couple had to stay in "this little roadside hotel where we stayed for a month. That was the biggest challenge."

However, it was Blake Lively, who was born and raised in California who gracefully handled the freezing weather like pro. Ryan Reynolds revealed, "Ironically, she coped with it far better than I did."

In his new movie, which also stars the likes if Scott Speedman and Rosario Dawson, the actor portrays a father who is suspected of kidnapping his daughter.

Meanwhile, his 26-year-old wife has been busy making major fashion statements on the red carpet earlier this week at Cannes while supporting her husband and working as L'Oreal Paris' beauty ambassador.

Her most recent fashion choices have included an oxblood Gucci Première gown as well as a gorgeous, shimmering Chanel Couture gown.
