He may be single as Kalus Mikaelson but when it comes to "The Originals" cast member Joseph Morgan's real life, the actor is officially off the market.

According to E! News, the star confirmed his engagement to Persia White while speaking to Kristin Dos Santos at The CW's Upfront event in New York City on Thursday.

Morgan joked, "I was waiting for this moment to break it to you."

So how exactly did he propose to his bride to be? While on the red carpet the former "Vampire Diaries" actor explained, "I'm not going to go into specific detail."

He added, "But I tried to be romantic. It was a nerve-wracking moment but it was special."

Joseph Morgan, 32, and Persia White, 41, met on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" back in 2011.

The big engagement news comes after "The Originals" season 1 finale and just days before the actor's 33rd birthday.

The newly engaged couple couldn't help but gush about their big step with their romance. In a statement to Wetpaint the couple said, "We really appreciate those of you who have supported our wild, creative, passionate and unlikely relationship."

The statement went on to say, "We have found a rare and precious thing; true love. We wish you all the same." The actor linked the announcement to his Twitter account.

Back in September, during a chat with HuffPost Live Joseph Morgan dished a bit about his relationship with Persia White.

He said, "You know, I'm very happy. It's great," addin "I'm lucky enough [that] she came with me to New York to enjoy a little bit of the city.

"I get the weekend off so we get to experience a little of that. But that's all I'm going to put out there - I'm going to keep the rest for myself."

Earlier today, the CW announced that "The Originals" will now move to Monday's taking the 8 p.m. timeslot.
