Prince William received permission to use the Windsor Castle to host a dinner gala benefitting the Royal Marsden cancer hospital. While surrounded by A-Listers and beautiful women, we could not help but notice that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, was missing. Someone has to take care of Prince George!

It is no secret the royal father and husband wears many hats, one of which is being president of the Royal Marsden hospital. Those in attendance at Tuesday's event included the likes of Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. Others include Helena Bonham Carter and Benedict Cumberbatch.

According to US Weekly, Prince William spoke that night with designer Ralph Lauren, who is funding a new breast cancer center at the hospital.

"It's a wonderful thing you're backing," he told the fashion mogul. "It will be another great addition to the hospital."

He even joked with Lauren, "You probably would far rather you saw my wife."

The site points out many of the guests opted for Lauren's designs for the event. Prince William praised the fashion mogul in a speech prior to dinner.

"I am exceptionally proud to be president of The Royal Marsden, an incredible hospital and a world-class cancer center carrying out ground-breaking work, influencing the treatment of cancer both nationally and internationally," he explained.

"I am enormously grateful to Ralph Lauren for his generosity, and to all of you who so kindly support the hospital," he said. "You should know that what you do saves lives and gives hope to thousands of people."

Moss and Cumberbatch shared with the site how greatly they value Prince William.

"The Duke and I met before, along with the Duchess, before they were married, when I was staying on Mustique," the model said. "I got very drunk at one point and I was determined to ask him to be a godfather to my daughter. He quite wisely said no."

"I admire him," she added. "He has got the same grace as both his parents."

The "Sherlock" star agreed, saying, "He is just a stand-up guy. Hopefully tonight will raise awareness of the work of The Royal Marsden. That's what we're here for."

We also noticed Prince Harry was not in attendance, perhaps coping with his recent break-up from Cressida Bonas?
