This week we honor classic beauty, Jean Shrimpton, as our Thursday Throwback.

This beauty of the 1960s was given a vast array of titles to pay homage to her gorgeous good looks. A supermodel of the era, some of the many accolades bestowed on Shrimpton include "the world's first supermodel," "world's highest paid model," "most famous model," "most photographed in the world," "world's most beautiful face," and "most beautiful girl in the world."

A huge star in her native London, Shrimpton was clearly the "It Girl." Her popularity and the public's fascination with her beauty even got her nicknames "The Face," and "The Face of the Moment." Jean's beauty went against the grain of the more voluptuous models of the previous decade and thus, she was celebrated for her long lean figure, even called "the Shrimp." Jean's big doe eyes, full lips, and arched eyebrows made her ever more alluring as well.

Among her many titles, Shrimpton has also been given the honor of having help to put the miniskirt on the map. The beauty arrived once to Australia wearing a super short skirt without the traditional hat, gloves, or stockings, which caused a huge sensation.

To get Jean's look, keep things simple yet sexy. Recreate the popular sixties matte makeup style with your own favorite shade of matte foundation for a seamless base to your makeup. Emphasize eyes with light pastels or barely there eyeshadows, but play up lashes with mascara that coats both the bottom and top lids. A pair of falsies would help to create that extra pop from this mod style era. For lips, keep the color light and airy like the timeless shade of peach Shrimpton was known to wear often.
