The wait is finally over.
For months, the fashion world has been counting down to Nicolas Ghesquière's Louis Vuitton debut, which finally arrived with his Fall 2014 runway collection at the Cour Carree during Paris Fashion Week.
The beloved designer showed his stunning collection to a crowd of famous faces like LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, Princess Charlene of Monaco, Catherine Deneuve and Jean Paul Gaultier, amongst others.
After 14 years of Marc Jacobs at the Vuitton helm, and Ghesquière's departure from Balenciaga over a year ago, it's safe to say everyone was ready to see what's next for the French design house.
With a '60s silhouette dominating the 48 look collection, the designer gave the retro-inspired pieces a modern edge with impeccible craftsmanship using lots of leather and suede. Of course, the looks were styled with to-die-for jewlery and accessories. Not to mention, the coveted new Petite Malle bag, a mini version of the iconic LV trunk.
"The knowledge of the team is extraordinary, the best of the world," Ghesquière said after the show. "I will not say it was effortless, but it was a much more natural and easy process," he went on. "I listened to the girls in the studio a lot, the women around me, what they want, what they need."
