Even though the Super Bowl is long behind us, Scarlett Johansson's appearance in an advertisement still continues to haunt her.

For the first time since the controversy, the blonde bombshell has decided to speak out since quitting her role as an Oxfam ambassador.

According to the Daily Mail, since making the choice to keep her connection with the Israeli SodaStream company, the 29-year-old sat down with Dazed magazine and admitted that she never saw herself as a role model.

Although she did not specifically address Oxfam, Johansson said, "I don't see myself as being a role model; I never wanted to step into those shoes.

"How could I wake up every day and be a normal person if I was completely aware that my image was being manipulated on a global platform. How could I sleep?

"You have to have peace of mind. You've got to be able to protect those things. How else could you exist? You'd go crazy, anybody would go crazy.'

As for the end to her role as an ambassador Scarlett Johansson said that she and the charity had a "fundamental difference of opinion" after it said it opposed all trade from Israeli settlements believing that the act is illegal and denies Palestinian rights.

Instead of sticking with Oxfam, the "Captain American: The Winter Soldier" decided to keep her role as brand ambassador for SodaStream because she supports trade and "social interaction between a democratic Israel and Palestine."

Meanwhile SodaStream's chief executive responded to the criticism from the activist group stating that the beverage company was being "demonized" even though it is the largest private company employing Palestinian workers in the West Bank.
