New York Fashion Week rolls on and another fierce runway rocks our world.
Designer Anna Sui debuted her FW '14 collection, filled with drama and detail. Mercedes Benz Fashion reports that for Fall/Winter 2014, "Anna Sui set out to MOD-ernize Anna May Wong's style from the film Piccadilly (1929). The collection is inspired by Serge Luten's photographs for Shiseido, fashion illustrations from La Gazette du Bon Ton, Biba, art deco jewelry, the interiors of Rose Cummings, and chinoiserie rooms and pavilions from European palaces and features the colors jade, cinnebar and kingfisher blue."
So who could enhance the faces of the models to measure up to these fashionable frocks? None other than the legendary Pat McGrath, Global Cosmetics Creative Design Director for Covergirl.
Pat created a dramatic and colorful look inspired by Anjelica Houston and the 1929 British silent film, Piccadilly. Here's how to rip this runway:
First, Pat used her fingers to blend a flawless, glowy base using COVERGIRL truBLEND Liquid Makeup ($10). She applied a top secret new COVERGIRL concealer (out July 2014) under the eyes, creating an even canvas for dramatic eyes and lips.
Next, McGrath lined the upper and lower eyelids with COVERGIRL Ink It! Liner in Black Ink ($5). Pat intensified the look of the COVERGIRL Flamed Out Shadow Potin Sapphire Flare ($4) by using her brush to dampen the shadow with water. She applied the shade all over the lid and lightened it near the inner corners by layering COVERGIRL Flamed Out Shadow Pencilin Crystal Flame ($5). Finally, she coated the lashes in a top secret new COVERGIRL mascara (out July 2014) for intense curl and intensity.
