The black and white episode of "Pretty Little Liars" season 4 finally arrived and it was full of 1940's style and a little dialect. And unfortunately for the liars "A" aka Ezra kicked things up a notch in the Noir episode.
For those of you who missed the "Shadow Play" episode we have the recap for you.
After Spencer, Hanna and Emily find Allison's diary in Ezra's desk, Aria tells her secret boyfriend an idea she has for her essay about a villain winning over a hero.
It wasn't long after, that our favorite girls are thrust into black and white courtesy of Spencer's pill addiction getting the best of her.
Toby quickly learns that Spencer has a problem and the fact that a mysterious painting of Allison show up on the wall of her fire place doesn't help denial. Meanwhile, Hanna is busy being a man hater and amateur sleuth tailing Mona and Ezra.
Across town, while trying to learn more information about Shana, Emily gets into a lover's spat with Paige.
Hanna gets spotted by Mona which leads to her capture and results in Spencer somewhat coming to the rescue and having the ultimate stare down with Fitz in his apartment.
Fitz tells Toby that Allison is alive and that Spencer knows where to find her. After that Spencer gets a visit from her where she challenges Spencer to put the pieces together and figure out who she is afraid of already.
In the process, Ally of course taunts Spencer about not being as smart as she thinks she is and teases that maybe the pills aren't helping.
This causes out favorite brainiac to flee to the kitchen where she knocks the rest of her pills into the sink.
Getting her hand stuck in the drain with a shadow lurking near the switch for the garbage disposal sends Spencer into a panic, only to have Toby set her free and tell her to snap out of it.
Toby then takes her down for an interrogation, because apparently he is a cop, but the intense questioning ends with a sweet kiss.
This happens just before Fitz tells Aria that he knows that Allison is alive.
Emily and Paige's romance is a secret because in the 40's same-sex relationships weren't as accepted as they are now and the two decided to come out together.
However, we don't get to see that as the liars gather together once Hanna figures out where Ally is, which is hiding in plain sight at a club.
The liars confront Allison about faking her death and she calls them gutless because they are afraid to tell Aria that Ezra is "A."
Right before Allison is ready to tell Aria the truth a bullet flies through the window sending the group fleeing to a dead end down an alley way.
As Ezra calls to Aria telling her it is safe for her to come out, her friends warn her not to trust him.
As she gets closer to the figure in the shadows it is revealed that Toby is stand in Ezra's place after knocking him out.
As the girls run they realize that Allison has disappeared. While they are driving away from the scene everyone begins to gang up on Spencer telling her it is time for her to figure out who "A" is.
Toby yells at her to look at the pages not the book, it is then that a headlight blinds the group's car into what looks like will be a car accident but instead jolts Spencer from her daze back into reality and Technicolor.
She then realizes that "A" wanted them to find Allison's diary but realizes that the stories have been changed in order to throw them off the trail.
Now that Spencer, Emily and Hanna can prove Ezra is "A" they find Aria kissing him.
The last thing we see in the episode is a telegram from the stalker that reads, "Break a leg. Stop. Kisses, A."
