It looks like clothing brand American Apparel has managed to gain more media attention through controversy once again.

According to Hollywood Life, as retailers prepare for Valentine's Day by promoting sexy lingerie, the famous clothing line opted to go with an interesting window display for one of their New York City stores.

Instead of sticking with the generic decorations of Valentine's Day such as hearts, flowers, teddy bears and the typical pink and red color scheme, the retailer decided to go in a hairy direction.

American Apparel chose to show off their sheer collection of bras and underwear by using mannequins that not only have visible nipples but also a large amount of pubic hair.

One of the branches of the retailer located on East Houston Street in NYC is currently displaying several controversial mannequins.

Each of the mannequins on display contains an untamed amount of pubic hair. Proving that the carpet matches the drapes, the retailers made sure all of the mannequins were brunette and they matched the color of their pubic hair.

The decision to flaunt the pubic hair was well thought out by the executives of the company. In fact District Visual Manager, Dee Myles explained the decision behind the controversial window display.

She said, that the display is meant to "bring rawness and newness to a holiday thought of as a romantic Hallmark holiday. . . by exploiting the lust of Valentine's Day."

She revealed that it is important to "have instances spark up curiosity and conversation about what we deem beautiful and sexy."
