Houndstooth is having a major moment this season. This Scottish-born print has been spotted on red carpets and runways around the world in a wide range of materials and contractions.

Jennifer Hudson rocked a classic Dior dress complete with a houndstooth printed bodice at the 2013 VMA's. Celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Dita Von Teese took the black and white pattern to the streets. Gwen sported a dapper blazer out in NYC, while Von Teese opted for a sophisticated structured dress completely covered in the motif.

Both traditional black and white patterns and modern colored twits hit the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 runways by designers like Christian Dior and Balmain. French fashion house Balmain turned out a fantastically funky houndstooth minidress made out of denim. Celebrities also love this new take on the classic pattern. Mollie Kingrecently attended the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards held at Claridges Hotel in London rocking a contemporary blue and brown contrast-print houndstooth dress from Gucci's Fall 2013 collection.
