According to Hollywood Life, Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend, 25, has a new tattoo that was done on top of another tattoo.

While in New Zealand on Oct. 8, RiRi got a Polynesian-themed Maori tattoo, which was applied with a chisel and mallet. For our story on RiRi's last design, click HERE.

But her new ink not only covers up her previous hand tattoo, but has more of complicated design. Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy, who inked the pop diva, dished on the process and Rihanna's reaction.

"Landed!," Bang Bang instagrammed, along with a bunch of pictures on Sunday. "Can't wait to tattoo one of my oldest clients...Anyone wanna guess who?"

On Wednesday, Bang Bang revealed his client was Rihanna and showed off the finished product, which took 11 hours.

"One more - before and after on @badgalriri ....@callyjoart and I spent hours and hours drawing on different designs, we finally found one that worked! So proud we made it pretty!," posted RiRi's tattoo artist.

Bang Bang described the process to E! News.

"We drew on her hand from 7 p.m. to midnight," said Bang Bang. "We were drawing and changing things. I'd take a break and [colleague] Cally-Jo would draw, then I'd draw. The inspiration was henna art, we wanted something really decorative, feminine and sexy. She had something preexisting on her hand. So it was a little bit of a cover up, but also making it look good. We needed to work with what she already had."

He continued, "Her hand is not something you can put away. We went over and over. It was a struggle to design. She even took a nap when we were drawing. We started over, until we found the direction she liked. [It was the] most challenging design I've done on Rihanna before. This one had elements to it that were very unique, covering up pieces of it, combining pieces of it, making up new pieces."

And the Katy Perry and Cara Delevingne's friend loved her new ink.

"Ri flipped out," said Bang Bang to E! "Absolutely loved it, loved it! It's a hard thing when you get a tattoo and not absolutely love it. It's uncomfortable to have something on your hand, especially when it's in such a visible spot, and she's such a visible person. Your hand is as closely related as your face. If you think about it, her hand is right there and the whole world is watching it."
