The Sands 10 & 10. Beverly Hills is known for extremes and some celebs want a complete smile makeover.  "Recently one celeb opted for the Sands 10 and 10," The doctor said. "She had 20 teeth revamped with porcelain veneers. Veneers correct many problems.  Teeth are straighter, the size and shape are perfected and the color is customized and doesn't stain!" The Hollywood tab? Approximately $50,000!

Straighten up! Plenty of clients want to straighten their teeth, but don't want to have obvious looking metal braces. Luckily there's a solution. "Celebs like Kendall Jenner opted for Invisalign," Sands said. "She came in Just yesterday!"  Dr. Sands can utilize these clear mouth trays to shift teeth back into place and help straighten up teeth without any obvious braces. The cost of Invisalign treatment ranges from $3,500 to $8,000, with the national average at about $5,000.

Customize. Among his many star-studded patients, one celeb client wanted her teeth to look as natural as possible.  "When doing her veneers, she requested that a few teeth be left slightly crooked to keep her smile unique and natural looking," Dr. Sands said.  The physician says that his office believes in customization. "We have over 5 different artists for different ages, genders and ethnicities- each smile is tailored to the individual."

The secret to creating the perfect smile? It all starts with a photo analysis. Teeth are contoured based on eye and face shape. Masculine and feminine qualities are also taken into consideration. Men tend to have squarer edges, while females have more rounded teeth.  But Dr. Sands warns that customization is key. "Making teeth too square can make the teeth appear like dentures, and too round can actually add pounds visually. Elongating the two front teeth, just slightly, adds a more youthful and feminine appearance as well."

Pearly White. The ideal celebrity smile is bright and white. But perfection doesn't come without a little maintenance. "Most of my celebrity clients come in every 3 months for professional whitening treatments," Dr. Sands said. "White teeth look more youthful, healthy and are the key to standing out. It can take years off." Try an at-home whitening system to get the same mega-watt effect. Try Supersmile like Kristen Bell. The sta'rs smile is amazing and the system is super afforadable, priced at $30.

Thinking about lightening your smile? Dr. Sands says no set of teeth are the same. "Some people may be able to achieve a whiter result 5 to 10 shades lighter than others who may only be able to get 2 shades lighter. The reason? "Those who have less enamel - the white part that covers the tooth- have less to bleach.  The alternative for those patients is veneers."
