It looks like Clint Eastwood's son Scott Eastwood didn't want a hand out when he first started out in Hollywood. The 27-year-old actor wanted to make a famous name for himself without the help of his famous dad or his last name.

Eastwood spoke with Access Hollywood and explained why he chose to use a different name when he first started his career.

The hot actor said, "Everyone wanted to represent Scott Eastwood, right? That's the cheapest game in the book."

He continued, "I wanted to be an actor for me and to see if I could do it."

Instead of using his father's famous last name he instead went by Scott Reeves, his mother Jacelyn's maiden name.

Us Weekly noted that Scott Reeves is also the name of a well-known General Hospital actor and eventually Eastwood decided to embrace his father's last name.

He admitted, "Sure, I've had doors open for me." The actor has had roles in "Flags of Our Fathers," "Invictus" and "Trouble with the Curve," all due to his decision to revert back to his father's SURNAME.

However, he did contest, "But if you walk into an audition room and you can't deliver . . . no one's gonna hire you for the job."

He added, "I'm gonna look at the glass half full and say that I've had a lot of great opportunities in my life because of my father and because of the way I was raised and the environment I was raised in."

Looking forward, the rising star is set to appear in the David Ayer-directed World War II film "Fury," opposite Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf.

Prior to stepping foot into the entertainment industry, Scott Eastwood's previous jobs included bartender and construction worker.

He revealed, "People assumed that I would have everything handed to me, but that couldn't be further from the truth," he told the October issue of Town & Country.

He went on to say, "I was on my own just doing the grind."
