"The Originals" star, Daniel Gillies is a new dad in 2013! The actor, 37, and his "Perception" star wife, Rachel Leigh Cook, 33, welcomed a baby boy on Friday.

According to Hollywood Life, Cook is "all that" as a new mom.

The actress' rep confirmed the baby news to E! Online. The low-key couple didn't release any other details, but Cook had opened up publicly about her pregnancy and excitement over being a mom.

"One of the best things about gestation is that people tell you that you look great, even when it is far from true," Cook told Marla Sokoloff's Celebrity Baby Blog just weeks before going into labor. "I don't turn down a compliment, so thank you!" 

Rachel announced her pregnancy in May. Gillies was overjoyed upon learning that he and and his wife of nine years were having their first child together. 

"A lot of people were asking whether I'd prefer a boy or a girl," Gillies said to US Weekly in May. "In truth, it doesn't matter to me - I just can't wait to meet the little Keanu Robocop." 

Cook had to hide her growing baby bump on the set of her TNT drama, "Perception." But she joked about the experince of working while pregnant.

"I've been hiding my rapidly growing baby bump while shooting, but this kiddo is vying for screen time," Cook said about the experience. "We clearly have a future actor on our hands."
