"True Blood" will air for its last season in 2014. Alexander Skarsgard, Alicia Vikander's rumored boyfriend and nude lover, is returning as a series regular on the HBO show.
According to TV Line, Skarsgard will return for the show's final season airing Summer 2014.
"I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be a part of the next season of 'True Blood,'" said the series' showrunner, Brian Buckner to the television news site. "He will be a series regular."
Fans were questioning whether Skarsgard would return after his character burst into flames in the season 6 finale, which the Swedish actor had gone fully nude. For our story and photos of Skarsgard going nude for the "True Blood's" season 6 finale, click HERE.
Buckner told TV Line that the hunky actor was very comfortable with stripping down in front of the camera.
"Alex Skarsgard was the coolest camper in the world," Buckner said. "There's no conversion with him. He's Swedish. They're naked all the time. As a matter of fact, when I saw what we had on camera, I sent him an email that said, 'We're going to lock picture. Are you OK with this?' He said, 'No problemo.' That was the conversation. It couldn't have been easier."
Just minutes after the finale aired on Aug. 18, fans took to internet to speculate about his character, reported the Daily Mail.
None of the cyberspace rumors had been positive or optimistic about the character's survival, but some TV critics and experts weren't giving up on Skarsgard's character, Eric Northman just yet.
"Hard to say if Eric is 100 percent dead as the show then jumped ahead six months," said E Online's Tierney Bricker after the show's finale last month," ...and never showed us the tall, blonde and handsome vamp again."
