On Thursday, Jay-Z's "Holy Grail" music video featuring Justin Timberlake from his "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" album premiered via Facebook.

The premiere creatively utilized Facebook's proprietary video player, which will have the exclusive on the music video before YouTube and any other video provider until noon EDT on Friday August 30th, according to Billboard.

The Head of Content Partnerships for Facebook, Nick Grudin said, "What we're doing with Jay Z today is really exciting and we think emblematic of the evolution for music and how musicians can connect with their fans."

He added, "And we think that is particularly evident in Jay Z's approach here, which will really allow him to go direct to a massive and instant global audience.

"It's something that only Facebook I think can really deliver in this way, given the scale of the audiences musicians have and the global nature of those audiences and the social dynamics of what happens when they engage on Facebook."

The rapper has over 17 million Facebook fans while Timberlake has around 25 million, meaning the video will receive a lot of exposure from the social network alone before it sees distribution from other media outlets.

The "Holy Grail" video features an interesting remix compared to the song's original version and displays a tower of champagne glasses while Justin Timberlake sings from a table that looks to be like a trashed version of the Last Supper.

Jay-Z remains focused as he raps to a Mike Tyson fight that is being viewed on a set of monitors in an unfurnished room.
