The "Scandal" season 3 premiere date is approaching and as we get closer to the return of ABC's hit primetime series, cast members have been giving fans juicy spoilers. Tony Goldwyn recently leaked some information that have left "Scandal" diehards on edge.
The actor, who plays President Fitz, shed some light on where the series is headed now that his affair with Olivia Pope (played by Kerry Washington) has become public knowledge.
First off, Goldwyn admitted that fans can expect to find out who exposed his affair with Olivia early in the season.
According to the Huffington Post, he said that the reveal will come "Very soon. And you will be really shaken by it."
When talking about Fitz's approach to all the White House drama, Goldwyn said, "Fitz really wants to approach everything in as upfront a way as possible. Now there's lots of people in his life who are gonna object to that and keep him from doing it.
"Fitz is trying to steer clearly through this ... but he's not successful. [Laughs.] Lots of bombs go off in his face."
The actor did his best to divulge some spoilers involving Fitz's and Jake's storyline admitting that we will see more of their past.
However, he didn't want to give too much away, "Honestly I don't know what I can tease, but I know that's true -- there's lots of suggestions that that's where we're going.
"There's a lot of dark tunnels we're gonna be going down, I suspect, that dig up more details about Fitz and Jake. He's a very interesting character who I think is just going to get more complicated as we go."
Leaving fans with his final thoughts, Tony Goldwyn was asked to put "Scandal" season 3 in to one word, however, the actor simply could not.
Instead he said, "It's not a word, but pushing the envelope. That's the way I would describe it. Shonda's continuing to forge ahead and surprise ... there's no repeats. It just continues in Season 3. I am really amazed at her ability to just keep driving forward. She's just on fire."
"Scandal" season 3 returns to ABC on Thursday October 3rd at 10 p.m. ET.
