"The Newsroom" star Olivia Munn may appear in the Johnny Depp-led "Mortdecai" movie. The actress, who plays Sloan Sabbith on the HBO show, is in talks to join the film also starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor.
According to Deadline, the 33-year-old "Newsroom" actress may come aboard the David Koepp-directed film, which is based on "anti-hero art dealer" novels by Kyril Bonfiglioli.
But what role will the raven-haired beauty play?
Deadline reported that details are a bit sketchy on her possible character in the Lionsgate thriller. But DL's Dominic Patten thinks it's doubtful that she will play Jock Strapp, the long-suffering manservant in the books.
Depp will take on the lead role of the rogue Charlie Mortdecai, according to DL.
The film will center around Mortdecai, an art dealer searching for a stolen painting rumored to contain a secret code that gains access to hidden Nazi gold, according to IMDB.
Eric Aronson, who wrote the script for 2001's "On the Line" with Lance Bass and Emmanuelle Chriqui, also wrote this film.
At the moment, Munn is still in negotiations for a role in the crime drama. She will have a definite big screen role in Jerry Bruckheimer-produced crime film, "Beware the Night" with Eric Bana.
