With everyone anticipating the first official photos of royal baby Prince George, along with his parents Kate Middleton and Prince William, the royal family finally released their family portrait on Monday.
In the most casual, DIY baby portraits, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sit in the garden of Middleton's parents' home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, looking cheerful as they pose with their newborn.
Just a few weeks after giving birth, Kate Middleton looks gorgeous while holding Prince George. In one photo the Duchess is standing alongside husband Prince William as the two smile for the camera.
In another photo, she is holding tight to George while sitting on the grass next to Prince William with their dog, Lupo, and her parents' dog, Tilly.
Kate Middleton is glowing in the photos taken by her father, Michael Middleton. A Palace aide told Us Weekly, "William and Catherine wanted to release photos that are more natural and personable, something more intimate."
However, it was revealed that Prince William's wife called upon Amanda Cook Tucker, a freelance hairstylist who she has worked with in the past. The stylist made the trip to Bucklebury just for the Duchess so her hair could look camera ready for the big debut.
For the portrait, Kate wore a fuschia knot front maternity dress by Seraphine, the magazine reported. Ringing up at $79 the dress had an empire waist that covered yet flattered Middleton's post-baby body.
Meanwhile, Prince William wore a buttoned down checkered shirt tucked into his jeans and his favorite African-style belt, according to the Daily Mail.
Us Weekly reported that Prince George, who was born in London on July 22nd, was swaddled in the same shawl, by G H Hurt and Son Limited, that he left St. Mary's Hospital in on July 23rd.
In his CNN interview with Max Foster, William told the royal correspondent, "For me, Catherine, and now little George are my priorities... and Lupo (their cocker spaniel)."
