Taylor Swift and her best friend, Ed Sheeran could be dating. The '22' singer was recently spotted with country star on a reported ice cream date, according to Hollywood Life.

Cameras caught the couple having a cold treat at Mel's Downtown Creamery in Pawcatuck, Conn. on Monday. They took part in a "Big Kahuna" sundae eating challenge, in which "Swift did everything she could to support Sheeran," reported HL.

She cheered him on, playing "Eye of the Tiger" on her phone and snapping photos at Mel's Creamery.

"Ed kept drooling ice cream and coughing," said an eyewitness, "and Taylor just goes 'ew' and cracks up laughing...They also listened to 'Don't Stop Believing.' Ed kept looking at his ice cream and saying 'I won't stop believing.' Taylor kept asking people for tips to give Ed, so he could finish his ice cream."

The eyewitness added that Swift told Sheeran that he couldn't let people down, and told fans that she would check on him in the bathroom after he finished the giant bowl of ice cream.

Both singers have been spending a lot of time together lately. In fact, Sheeran, 22, is touring the country with Swift, 23, on the "Red" tour.

According to the Huffington Post, the two singers make "beautiful" music together and co-write songs while jumping on a trampoline.

Swift and her friend reportedly met through Harry Styles of One Direction.
