Following Cory Monteith's death various tributes have been made to the "Glee" star. Fans and peers will get a chance to mourn the fallen star during the Emmy Awards on September 22nd.
In an interview that "Glee" executive producer, Ken Ehrlich had with Deadline Hollywood, it was revealed that plans are being taken to put time aside for a tribute segment that will honor Monteith, 31, who was found dead on July 13th.
Autopsy reports confirmed that the actor who played Finn Hudson on the FOX hit show died from a fatal mix of heroin and alcohol.
Ehrlich told Deadline that current plans call for "something that reflects an homage." Since the plans of the Emmy tribute are only in the initial stages the executive producer said that there are very few details available, "what the extent of that is, or how we're going to approach it ... well, it's too early to tell."
He also said that there has been pressure to devote time to a "stand-alone segment" for Monteith, but the task is proving difficult considering the Emmy's is a three-hour show that has to juggle handing out awards with planned bits along with timing acceptance speeches.
Ehrlich said, "If Cory had passed in March, we've have had four months to look at this with a little more perspective."
"The reason we're getting all of this discussion now is because he passed away two weeks ago. But we are going to deal with it."
Another idea being consider for Cory Monteith's Emmy Award tribute is a musical homage which would stray away from the traditional "In Memoriam" show segment.
Just last week "Glee" cast and crew gathered at 20th Century Fox lot for a private memorial service, present at the memorial was Monteith's girlfriend Lea Michele.
"Glee" season 5 is set to premiere on September 26th, one week after the show was initially set to air. The third episode will honor the dead actor and will be followed by a long hiatus, according to the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy.
