In a new interview with Elle UK for their September issue, Katy Perry blamed Rihanna's circle of friends as the reason that the once-best friends are no longer close, according to Hollywood Life.

The singers, who were once attached at the hip, are rarely spotted out together anymore. Though Perry, 28, will always care about the "Stay" singer, 25, they have grown apart due to who Rihanna keeps in her company, reported HL.

In fact, HL said that Perry told Elle UK that she is tired of "saving" her friends, "I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I'm reminded of the light that she has."

"There's a lot of darkness in this business," Perry continued. "I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages - they are the root of their demise. It's really unfortunate that you can't save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over."

Reportedly, the "Fireworks" singer had walked away from the friendship due to Chris Brown's return to Rihanna's life.

Perry had refused to even sit with Rihanna at this year's Grammys because of Brown, reported HL. The California girl was not supportive at all of the Bajan beauty getting back together with the "Love More" singer.

But now that Brown is out of the picture again, some speculate that Perry and Rihanna will resume being besties.
