Following the death of Cory Monteith the "Glee" cast gathered for a special memorial to pay tribute to their late co-star. The cast gathered on Thursday July 25th to celebrate and mourn the life and death of the actor who played Finn Hudson on the FOX hit series.

According to Hollywood Life, the actor's girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele was "shellshocked" but "very happy" to be surrounded by the people she and Monteith worked with for the past couple of years, a source told the celebrity gossip site.

However, it has been reported that Michele is still beyond devastated about the death of her boyfriend whose body was found in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13th.

Luckily the actress had the "Glee" cast, crew, co-creator Ryan Murphy along with producers of the show, network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Monteith, 31, at Paramount Studios.

As the service has passed more details about the memorial has been revealed. An insider said, "Many of the cast were talking about their memories based on specifics places of the set. The memorial was basically a remember 'what happened here or there' type of situation."

The insider later added that the gathering was clearly sad because "everyone was crying."

They went on to say that "There were about 200 people there, and tears started flowing every time a story was told, but there were laughs and smiles as well when some stories were told.

" It was very therapeutic. It was exactly what you would expect when people get together to give respect to a person that was so important to them."

Michele, who was devastated the most from the shocking loss was comforted by friends and colleagues with the source revealing, "Everyone made time for Lea and talked to her and cried with her - she was shellshocked, but was very happy to be surrounded by her peers. It was exactly what she needed."
