Tyler Hoechlin could be playing Batman to Henry Cavill's Superman in the newly announced Batman and Superman film hitting theaters in 2015, according to Cosmic Book News.
The "Teen Wolf" actor will do a screen test with Cavill as a replacement for Christian Bale in the untitled flick announced at Comic Con 2013 on Saturday, reported the comic book site.
After such small screen roles in "Lincoln Heights" and "7th Heaven," Hoechlin is heavily being considered for the next Caped Crusader.
CBN's Matt McGloin said the production company and director want a special someone to appear alongside Cavill, "Warner Bros. and Synder are looking at someone to play the new Batman with a reputation similar to Cavill's."
At this point, better known actors also could be testing for the dream role. The production team will schuedule screen tests soon, with filming to begin in early 2014.
As for other movie scoops, the film will feature villians including the possible duo of Joker and Lex Luthor, CBN reported.
And McGloin explained the interesting plot, "The sequel is set a year after 'Man of Steel,' and the world is still getting used to having this powerful God on the planet who isn't fully trusted by everybody."
"Batman certainly doesn't trust Superman," McGloin continued. "Superman doesn't trust Batman; either of which causes the two to intially clash when they meet. They do however pair up to defeat the villians (not 100% confirmed who the villains are.")
Luthor will be in the sequel and of course, doesn't like Superman and believes he is a threat to the planet.
