Cameron Diaz is now the artistic director for shoe label Pour la Victoire, according to Women's Wear Daily.

With the unconventional, surprising move, the "Other Woman" star now has a stake in the accessories and footwear brand. She is in a position to "impact the brand's collections," WWD reported.

She finds the new role to be quite suitable, "Being influential in a brand and in its [advertising] campaigns interests me."

"I love fashion," she continued to tell WWD. "It's a large part of my life. What I wear is looked at. It influences what other people wear because that is just the world we live in."

Diaz may not have fashion roots, but she is willing to spread her wings with the New York-based label.

It was roughly a year ago when a PLV board member and personal friend Dave Baram invited her to the company's showroom. Though the visit was a simple meet-and-greet, Diaz seized the opportunity to turn it into something incredible.

She is looking forward to a "true" partnership with PLV, "I know how I work and I know when something is important to me."

"I'll try my best and hope for the best," she continued. "Not everyone succeeds or fails all the time. All I can do is engage with it."

As artistic director, the actress will contribute to the brand's handbag and shoe collections, as well as merchandising, marketing and advertising. She will also help steer future campaigns to success.

The blonde beauty wants a functional, fashionable and quality range, "If you're spending $500 on a bag, it should be your partner for life."

"That's what a bag is for women," she continued. "It holds everything important in your life as long as you're carrying it."

Before Diaz's first collection arrives this Spring, the company will roll out a fall and holiday campaign called "Cameron's Picks," a selection of her favorite things from the brand's current collection.
