Following the death of "Glee" star Cory Monteith more details are being revealed about the actor and his loved ones, particularly his girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele.

Us Weekly revealed that Michele learned about her boyfriend's death through a phone call on Saturday evening.

The 26-year old received a phone call on July 13th around 10 p.m. in Los Angeles. The actress who had been dating Monteith for over a year was said to be "totally devastated" as the person on the other end of the phone who had been trying to reach her desperately revealed the news.

Monteith, who played football player Finn Hudson on the FOX hit series, had been found dead around noon in his Vancouver hotel room on Saturday.

Upon hearing the shocking news the source told the magazine that "Lea completely lost her mind."

"She went crazy, screaming and crying until 3 a.m."

Devastated, the actress retreated into seclusion and has since been overwhelmed with emotion, "Lea has been inconsolable and feels like she's been hit by a truck," a friend of the star revealed.

"She didn't know he'd started using again."

Back in April Monteith spent a month in rehab for substance abuse, but toxicology statistics in his autopsy report revealed that the Canada native accidentally overdosed on heroin and alcohol.

The star's girlfriend has now consumed herself with planning his funeral arrangements. "She's been talking with Cory's family the entire time and wants to plan the whole funeral," an insider told the magazine.

However, on Tuesday TMZ reported that the star was cremated in Vancouver with Michele, his mother, and his brother Shaun there to say goodbye to him.

Following Monteith's death Lea Michele released a statement through her rep thanking fans for their support, "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends, and fans."

The rep continued to say, "Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together.

"We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."
