On Thursday, the 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards announced this year's nominees including some of TV's most popular shows, actors and actresses.

Kate Mara of "House of Cards" was schueduled to join "Breaking Bad's" Aaron Paul to announce the nominees, but she missed the event due to her flight's mechnical malfunction from Santa Fe, reported US Weekly

This year's host, Neil Patrick Harris stepped in to announce the contenders with Paul at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood. The show is set to air on Sunday, Sept. 22 on CBS.

Bryan Cranston of "Breaking Bad," Hugh Bonneville of "Downton Abbey," Damian Lewis of "Homeland," Kevin Spacey of "House of Cards," Jon Hamm of "Mad Men" and Jeff Daniels of "The Newsroom" are up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, according to the Emmy's website.

Its sister category, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series includes Vera Farmiga of "Bates Motel," Michelle Dockery of "Downton Abbey," Claire Danes of "Homeland," Robin Wright of "House of Cards," Elizabeth Moss of "Mad Men," Connie Britton of "Nashville" and Kerry Washington of "Scandal."

Matt Damon and Michael Douglas are up against each other for their roles in "Behind The Candelabra" for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie. And Ryan Seacrest, Betty White, Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, Cat Deeley and Anthony Bourdain are up for Outstanding Host For a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.

Up for as Lead Actress In A Comedy Series, is Laura Dern of "Enlightened," Lena Dunham of "Girls," Edie Falco of "Nurse Jackie," Amy Poehler of "Parks and Recreation, Tina Fey of "30 Rock" and Julie Louie-Dreyfus of "Veep" are up. Lead Actor in a Comedy Series includes Jason Batemen of "Arrested Development," Jim Parsons of "The Big Bang Theory," Matt LeBlanc of "Episodes," Don Cheadle of "House of Lies," Louis C.K. of "Louie" and Alec Baldwin of "30 Rock."
