The royal baby watch has intensified as Kate Middleton is overdue having missed her alleged July 13th delivery date.
Earlier in the week Prince Charles' wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall said the royal family was on edge about the baby's delivery, "We're all waiting at the end of a telephone," she said, according to CNN.
"I hope by the end of the week, he or she will be there."
The News outlet reported that the baby will have the title His or Her Royal Highness Prince or Princess (the baby's name) of Cambridge, St. James's Palace.
However, that doesn't mean that the world will know the baby's name immediately, it could be as long as 10 days before the baby's name is announced.
Although the gender of the child has not been revealed seeing as the royal couple wants to be surprised, speculation suggests whether boy or girl, the baby's name will be something strong, favorites include Alexandra, Elizabeth, or Charlotte for a girl, and George or James for a boy.
CNN reports that anyone born in Britain on the same day as William and Catherine's baby will receive a special coin from the Royal Mint. The coin is a silver penny, dated 2013, that will come in a blue pouch for a boy or a pink one for a girl.
The Duchess of Cambridge is comfortably lounging at her parents air conditioned home with an on call staff. Us Weekly reported that palace staff is "on call every day and night in July for this."
Seeing as the due date has passed a palace insider told the magazine that "There is nothing left to prepare or plan for."
When Middleton finally goes into the labor she will alert her private secretary, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, who will call the Duchess' doctor Marcus Setchell on his palace-issued phone.
"It's an encrypted signal," a source told Us Weekly, "so there's no way anyone can intercept it."
The doctor will then get into his "BMW 6 Series, throw a flashing green emergency beacon light on the roof, and drive the seven-mile, 26-minute route from his Muswell Hill, North London home to St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington."
CNN reported that the first to know about the royal baby will be Queen Elizabeth II, Prime Minister David Cameron and the governors general of each of the commonwealth nations, along with the rest of the royal and Middleton families.
However, if the royal baby arrives in the middle of the night, it's unlikely the queen will be woken up and the official announcement will not be made until the next morning.
The baby will receive two gun celebratory salutes and his or her birth announcement will be rushed to Buckingham Palace.
