On Tuesday the British Columbia coroner's office announced that Cory Monteith died from a "mixed drug toxicity" involving heroin and alcohol.
According to CBS News, in a statement released by the office it was said that, "At this point there is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith's death was anything other than a most-tragic accident."
The statement went on to say,"Mr. Monteith's family has been made aware of the circumstances surrounding the death."
"On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time."
The 31-year old "Glee" star was found dead Saturday in his Vancouver hotel room. The actor's body was discovered after he missed his checkout time.
CBS News reported that the police said that Monteith had been out with people earlier, but video and electronic British Columbia coroner's office from the hotel indicated that he returned to his room by himself early Saturday.
Monteith was never shy about his battle with addiction starting at the age of 13-years old, calling it a serious problem and telling Parade magazine in 2011 he was "lucky to be alive." Back in April the actor entered rehab for substance addiction and asked for privacy as he took steps toward recovery.

Now Lea Michele who was Monteith's co-star and was dating the actor at the time of his death has asked for privacy during this tragic time.
A representative for Michele issued a statement on her behalf and said, "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends, and fans.
"Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."
On the FOX hit series Monteith played fan favorite character Finn Hudson who was a star football player before he found his voice with the help of Glee club.
The network and the producers of "Glee," including 20th Century Fox Television, have called Monteith an exceptional performer "and an even more exceptional person," according to CBS.
Gia Milani, who recently worked with the actor on a Canadian film said that Monteith "seemed healthy" when she last saw him in Los Angeles four weeks ago.
Milani insisted that the actor showed no signs of a substance abuse problem during the shoot a year ago.
"He looked super fit and he was energetic and excited."
