Robyn Lawley has made her point of proving "thinness equals beauty" but this time around the model is tackling plus-size bikinis.

The 24-year-old Sydney native has partnered with Bond-Eye Australia to launch a collection of bikinis and one pieces available in sizes ranging from 8 to 18 and designed specifically for women with curves.

Lawley spoke with Refinery 29 and revealed what led her to creating a fashionable plus size swimwear line, she said, "I swim almost daily, and I found most swimwear that came in my size to be boring and unflattering with no real fashion elements."

"I also couldn't find any bikinis that supported my bust in the surf, or had a high enough rise in the stomach section to be flattering, so the idea was born from my own necessity and grew from there."

The Robyn Lawley Swimwear line will range from prices starting at $140 to $200, she hopes the line will become "the go-to brand for swimwear for all women."

She explained to Refinery 29 why she chose to have sizes 8 to 18 in her swim line.

"For this first collection, I decided to start in a size range that 80% of women live between, and frighteningly, is also totally under catered for in fashion-forward swimwear."

However, Lawley did say, depending on demand there can be more variety when it comes to sizes, "We will add sizing according to the feedback we receive and we are really hoping the demand is there."

The model, who was the first plus-size model to star in a Ralph Lauren campaign and be featured on the pages of Vogue Australia realized average size swimwear is not for everybody.

"Regular swimwear brands tend to be very small fit, and you often find yourself going up one or two sizes to be comfortable. This is not the case with my line."

The plus-size bombshell described her inspirations for the designs, "I visually capture ideas and concepts every day. My dragon fruit one-piece was inspired by my love of food.

"The rest of the collection has facets of my own personality, urban edge, glamour, and retro. Everyone has different sides to their personality. You can still dress in your style by the pool or at the beach."
