With summer here, it at times seems pointless to straighten our hair just for it to curl right back up due to the intense humidity. So why not flaunt your natural curls while channeling your inner hippie?

Time to break out the beach waves and spiral curls by checking out the go to summer hairstyles for curly hair. And where do we turn to in order get our inspiration, well celebrities of course!

Lets face it when summer rolls around we have the tendency to reach for the scissors and relieve ourselves from a few inches of hair. However, those who take it to the extreme or have naturally short hair have the option of rocking the pixie cut.

Allure tells us to forget everything you've heard about curls and short cuts and look to Halle Berry's tough-but-feminine crop. Not only does her hair look gorgeous and volumized but it is not a high-maintenance hairstyle.

In order to achieve this look you need to ask your stylist for a graduated pixie style. Morgan Willhite, creative director at Ouidad told Allure, "You don't want a precision cut."

"It should be longer on top to show off the texture and choppiness." With a style like this it needs to dry naturally and a frizz-control product should be used to give the top separation and shine.

Just remember that before you take the leap to chop your locks keep in mind there is no turning back, Willhite said "When your hair is that short, you can't hide behind it."

When short hair doesn't cut it for us we turn to the gorgeous Marion Cotillard, who embodied the blended bang look.

To get this soft, wavy look, ask for very light layers along the bottom of the hair and blended bangs that fall to mid-eyebrow, according to Allure.

Lorraine Massey, co-owner of Devachan Salon told the site that, "These bangs can suit a lot of people because they're side-swept and not too short."

While tight curls and coarse hair might have trouble with this beachy look it is actually perfect for people with loose, wavy hair with fine texture.

If blended bangs are not for you consider turning to the lob, and by that we mean a long bob.

Back when Vanessa Hudgens was sporting the lob she had her lob at a sexy shoulder length. When you are getting this look ask for a wedge cut which consists of short layers in the back and long, face-framing layers in the front creating a interesting angle.

According to Allure, one of the perks of this curly hairstyle is that the long layers can slim a round face.

Willhite added, "And because the layers are long in front, you won't have difficulty with curls bouncing up around the face and not blending."

Finally a curly summer hairstyle you can turn to is the curly shag, however, don't let the name fool you this look is all about control!

This style works best for women with a curly texture, like Rihanna had at the Grammy Awards.

Willhite let us know that although "People often think using a razor is a total no-no with curly hair," it can actually be pretty helpful with this look.

She explained, "But when you want to achieve a piece-y, shaggy look like this-which is fuller towards the roots and wispier at the ends-a razor is the best strategy."

This style is prone to frizz so if your hair is naturally overly coarse or falls in the category of unruly hair-texture we would suggest skipping this look.
