Following their break up Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have not had to see each other. But all of this will change on July 8th when the former couple will meet face-to-face on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" to shoot season 5.
Neither the former couple nor their co-stars confirmed nor denied the split, which was discovered in early May when season 4 of their hit series wrapped.
After their brief tearful encounter at the CW Upfronts the actors have been busy filming their own projects and taking vacations with close family and friends.
For the most part of their hiatus from "The Vampire Diaries" stars have remained on opposite ends of the earth, according to International Business Times.
For part of the summer Dobrev has been stationed in the states as she shot her film "Let's Be Cops" in Atlanta, from there went continent hopping wth friends and family.
Meanwhile Somerhalder was over in Europe shooting for his film "The Anomaly," and enjoying his time overseas which included making out with a model while filming a fragrance commercial.
However, the fun came to an end on Sunday when Somerhalder tweeted fans about his return to the United States and wrote, "Jet lag-its real. Fought the good fight but now succumbing To it-off to Vampire Diaries set tomorrow.Goodnight beautiful world..."
While many expect the reunion to be awkward a source told E! Online that post-breakup that the pair are "still friends" and that do not have any "bad blood between them."
"There was no other person involved or any big fight," explained the insider.
"They still talk daily. This wasn't something out of the blue."
