It's that time of year again, it's the 4th of July! It is time you decided whether you will be attending a barbeque, a pool party, fireworks celebration, a yacht party, all of the above or something completely different.

In the end the decision is up to you but we have some great tips on keeping you healthy and entertained as you celebrate our nation's independence.

For New Yorkers we had quite a cloudy and rainy week but luckily things are looking like clear skies for the 4th of July.

The New York Post suggested heading over to Manhattan's west side between 24th and 40th Streets in order to watch the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks.

There will be over 40,000 fireworks that will be launched from four barges floating on the Hudson.

However you must remember in order to see the fireworks up close you want to find a good spot and that requires some planning.

The NY Post has different tips for different spots starting with 12th Ave and the West Side Highway. Starting at 2p.m. it will be closed off to traffic so if you are looking for a street spot it would be wise to head over there around that time.

If you are a New Jersey resident, Weehawken and Hoboken are good options to view the Macy's fireworks seeing as Liberty State Park's and the Jersey City's fireworks are canceled.

Of course if you are willing to fork over the cash you can pay for a better view with options of cruise lines and various waterways but you can expect to pay between $100 to $150 per adult.

When it comes to free coverage you just have to be dedicated to waiting out the crowd, i.e. getting to Manhattan early and holding onto your spot for at least six hours minimum.

But before you make your way over to the fireworks show you may want to consider bringing some things with you such as earplugs.

According to ABC News, the sound of loud noises such as fireworks and marching bands can actually damage you're hearing. If you can't find earplugs pinch your ears to avoid the sound.

In an effort to not throw away your diet consider portion control if you plan on attending a barbeque.

Also not only should you put on sunblock before you leave the house but you should carry it with you as well.

We hope these tips are helpful and you enjoy your 4th of July.
