Jared Leto transformed himself into a glammed-up drag queen for the new cover of Candy Magazine.

The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman, 41, donned a pink wig, false eyelashes and a cherry red pout for the spread in their July issue. Famed celebrity photographer, Terry Richardson shoot the actor and singer, who flaunted his "big-blue eyes and mile-long lashes," according to Hollywood Life.

The cover photo was a mirror of sorts of his transgender character in "Dallas Buyers Club," a film focuses on AIDS that also stars Matthew McConaughey.

To take on a role that was so contrasting meant losing a large amount of weight. "Your body goes through weird stages," he told Vulture in late 2012. "Sometimes it's hard to hold onto water. But for me, it's not about the most weight I can lose, it's more to represent the character. I'm focused on what it means to be a transsexual woman."

Also, Leto waxed his legs and plucked his eyebrows, which he hopes initiates a "meditative state," for the film.

According to IMDB, the flick is the story of a Texas electrician and his battle with "the medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies after being diagnosed as HIV-positive in 1986." It will hit theaters on Dec. 6, also starring Jennifer Garner and Steve Zahn.
