In the midst of his break up with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson has been named the new face of Dior. The fashion house made the announcement on Wednesday.

In a statement to E! News the designer confirmed the "Twilight" star's partnership with Dior, "Robert Pattinson has been announced as the new face of fragrance Dior Homme.

"Robert has been photographed for the campaign by American artist Nan Goldin and filmed by French director Romain Gavras, which is currently being broadcast exclusively in Europe (excluding the U.K.) and Asia (excluding China and Japan)."

Back in October rumors swirled that the actor was involved in a Dior shoot. E! Online first reported the rumor that Pattinson inked a $12 million Dior with the fashion icon for the next three years.

New York Magazine reported that a UK tabloid revealed details behind the secret shoot.

It posted, "The advert sexually explicit... [and] pushing the boundaries of what you can get away with in advertising.

"Robert is topless for part of it and kissing one of the models with tongues... There's another scene where he takes part in a foursome in various states of undress... According to the people on set, he didn't take much persuading to get into the role."

While the actor should be overjoyed with his success according to Hollywood Life, the actor is still grieving over his break up and is "very depressed."

A friend of his good pal Katy Perry revealed that Pattinson has turned to the singer for support during his hard time.

The source revealed, "Katy has been really supportive of Rob since he and Kristen split up. She has been his main support during this whole breakup.

"Kristen has tons of friends that she can lean on, whereas most of Rob's closest friends are in England. Rob isn't going to hang out with Kristen's friends anymore, so it's like he doesn't have Kristen in his life anymore, and that includes all of her friends."
