Joining a distinguished roster of beautiful starlets, Swedish supermodel Frida Gustavsson recently signed on as the new face for Maybelline New York.

The green-eyed beauty will make her debut in the brand's print and TV ad campaigns late this year, according to a press release. The popular beauty brand solidifies a bigger foothold in makeup lovers' hearts with tapping the catwalk-savvy supermodel as their new ambassador. And she is elated about representing the brand.

"A Maybelline New York woman is strong and confident - I love that attitude," Gustavsson said. "I'm honored and thrilled to represent such an iconic brand and to be part of the Maybelline New York family."

A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Gustavsson signed with IMG modeling agency in 2009 before having opened the Valentino Haute Couture Show in Paris for the Fall season that same year. She has walked the runways of some of the world's most fiercest fashion masterminds including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta, who just won the Founders Award at Monday's CFDA Awards in New York City.

She regularly graces such glossies as Vogue, Elle and W, and does high-fashion photo shoots and poses for cameras on-and-off the runway.  She posts a lot of great looks and candids to her Tumblr page.

Of course, the brand feels Gustavsson was a wise choice.

"In addition to her stunning career on the fashion runways, Frida's radiant beauty and positive energy are very inspirational," said Damien Bertrand, Maybelline New York's global brand president. "Her warm and optimistic personality perfectly embodies the Maybelline New York woman of today."
