This year's Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards sparkled with a star-studded line-up that garnered much praise and attention for more than just their dazzling get-ups at the Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday.

From the leggiest of supermodels to the sexiest of actresses, the red carpet was full of dominating and trendy expressions, and fierce attitude at fashion's most influential and memorable night. Most of the touted tastemakers arrived with their muses on their arms, with the invited guests' bodies draped in their dates' designs, according to UK Vogue.

Zac Posen escorted Juliette Lewis, Michael Kors showed off Karolina Kurkova, Francisco Costa flaunted Rooney Mara and Riccardo Tisci gave silent admiration to Jessica Chastain. Those were just a  few of the delightful pairs that told a story through fashion. 

But the real attraction lied in anticipating who would walk away with the night's top honors, which most seemed to wait with bated breath.

According to E! News, Bravo's Andy Cohen hosted the swanky awards soiree. The fashion powers that be praised and crowned the winners for all their great fashion style and sensibilities.

Menswear and womenswear designers of the year went to Thom Browne and the duo of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, respectively. Accessories designer of the year went to the punk-gone-polished visionary, Phillip Lim for 3.1 Phillip Lim.

The Swarovski award for accessories design went to Pamela Love, and Public School's Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne, and Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty of SUNO won the brand's awards for menswear and womenswear, respectively.

The Swarovski awards celebrate fashion's emerging talents, according to the Huffington Post.

The night's biggest highlights seem to be Ralph Lauren awarding the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award to Vera Wang, and Hilary Clinton bestowing the Founders Award to Oscar de la Renta.

Clinton presented the inaugural award, praising Renta for his philanthropy and design skills. 

The political figure even recalled the first time they met at the Kennedy Center Honors in 1993. "I was then, as I am now, such a fashion icon," the former Secretary of State said. 

The designers were extremely grateful to the CFDA's Diane von Furstenberg and Steven Kolb while others gave nods to Anna Wintour, Vogue's editor-in-chief.  

Kerry Washington and Chastain also gave kind regards, and introduced the designers in gorgeous Jason Wu and Givenchy dresses, respectively.
