Heidi Klum gives the green to get her kids to eat their greens, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The stunning supermodel, 39, pays $1 to her four children - 8-year-old Leni, 7-year-old Henry, 6-year-old Johan and 3-year-old Lou - for finishing their morning smoothie. What a way to motivate them!
Why, you ask?
The blonde beauty and the "America's Got Talent" judge is following through on a New Year's resolution to drink fresh juice at the start of each day. "We make an effort every morning - we peel pineapples, apples, lemons, bananas, kiwis, ginger and berries and we make delicious smoothies," she told the Daily Mail.
But since some of the kids dislike it, she bribes them.
"All of the money goes in their piggy banks - they have collected a bunch of money since January 1," she said. "What's good for them is good for me as well."
With the parenting trick, she adds another voice to the discussion about using monetary rewards in child rearing, but at the same time, might piss off more conservative moms out there.
One expert weighs in on the debate. "Bribe - I think has a lot of, it's got a very negative connotation especially with children," relationship and family expert, Dr. Karyn Gordon tells ABC News. "If they're picky eaters, I think it's a great strategy to focus on the foods that they do like that are healthy for them, and at the same time making it non-negotiable that they do have to be eating other foods that are also healthy for them."
