Brad Pitt surprised fans on Wednesday night when he dropped by an advanced screening of his film "World War Z" in Hoboken, New Jersey.

The crowd erupted with applause when the actor walked in the theater before the movie begun, dressed in all black with his hair pulled back.

The actor toted a bunch of T-shirts in one hand and a microphone in the other. He then tossed the shirts into the audience where excited fans jumped to catch them.

According to CBS News following his T-shirt throwing Pitt began his speech to the crowd.

"Thank you all for coming out," he can be heard saying in a video shot by one of the moviegoers.

"I know it's late, and we really appreciate it...Today we came out to show the film for the people we made it for -- our fans!"

"We said, 'Well, there's no other place better than Jersey!'"

He then said, "We've got T-shirts for everyone, and we've got a massive film for you. It's epic, it's scary as hell, and I guarantee you it's the most intense thing you're gonna see all summer."

"So we decided to do it than no other place than Jersey."
