Funny woman and mother of two, Melissa McCarthy was not in a joking mood when she fired an extra from her new movie "Tammy," after she saw the female violently yanking her child up in the air.

While on the set of her movie, which was filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, out of over 200 extras one woman caught the attention of McCarthy. The extra, who was a mother in her twenties brought her son along for the day of filming by the lake.

According to the Daily Mail, the woman struggled to control her son who was between the ages of 4 to 5-years old. For a day on set the extra would earn a standard fee of $58.

Witnesses told TMZ that the young mother struggled with her child all morning constantly telling the boy to "stop it" and quiet down. The woman was apparently loud enough to disrupt filming and eventually lost her patience with the child.

Sources told TMZ that, "the last straw came when the mom harshly jerked the child up in the air by the wrist -- and McCarthy saw it all. The director IMMEDIATELY had PAs bounce the woman ... saying she wouldn't tolerate abuse on her set ... and that was that."

The film "Tammy" stars Melissa McCarthy playing the titled character, who experiences the worst day of her life in which she is fire and upon returning home finds her husband cheating on her.

Tammy then joins her grandmother played by Susan Sarandon and her grandmother's friend played by Kathy Bates and the three embark a road trip.

The film is set to hit theaters in July of 2014.
