An unrecognizable Christian Bale was spotted in Los Angeles International airport on Sunday looking heavier than normal with a shaven head and goatee.
The 39-year old actor stars in the upcoming flick "American Hustler," and has undergone a change for his role based on Melvin Weinberg. Weinberg was hired by the FBI to help carry out their Abscam sting operation according to The New York Daily News.
Bale was spotted with a heavier mid-section in the LAX airport as he and his family arrived in Los Angeles after spending time in New York City while he filmed scenes for the David O. Russell film.
The actor is known for going through extreme appearance changes for his movie roles.
According to Yahoo! Finance, for his role in the 2004 film "The Machinist," the actor played an industrial worker who had not slept in a year, Bale lost 63 pounds for the part by living on a diet of apples, coffee and cigarettes.
In his 2010 film "The Fighter," Bale dropped weight to play a boxer-turned-drug addict. He also won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar Award for his role portraying Dicky Eklund.
For his latest role as a '70s con man-turned-FBI agent, Bale went to the other weight extreme and this time packed on the pounds.
Paparazzi recently got a shot of Bale and Amy Adams as they filmed a scene for the movie on Park Avenue in Manhattan. The two were seen dancing in the middle of the street according to the Daily News.
The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, and Jeremy Renner.
