Just Bieber is the first artist under 19 years old to have five number one's on the Billboard 200 and yet he was booed when he received the first ever Milestone Award, a fan voted award for musical ingenuity and innovation.

Upon taking the stage to accept the award the crowd erupted with boos to which Bieber seemed quite surprised. The singer stood in front of the microphone for a few moments and then proceeded to give his speech.

According to E! News, Bieber said, "I'm 19 years old, I think I'm doing a pretty good job and basically, from my heart, I really wanna say it should really be about the music. It should be about the craft, the craft that I'm making."

He continued, "This is not a gimmick. I'm an artist and I should be taken seriously and all this other bull should not be spoken of. I wanna thank my manager, Scooter Braun.

"I wanna thank my family at home. I wanna thank my mother, my father, I wanna thank Jesus Christ. Mom, I love you so much. Dad, I love you. Little brother and sister, I love you so much. Thank you guys so much. Fans, you're incredible."

Despite the boos following the award ceremony, the singer took to Twitter to thank fans once more.

He tweeted, "2 performances and 2 awards. Grateful to my #Beliebers. Our awards. Love."

"I love music, my fans, my family, my friends.. And I love The Lord."

Bieber also took home the top male artist award.
