On Thursday soap actor Dylan Michael Patton was charged with selling cocaine out of his Agoura Hills home in Los Angeles. The former "Days of Our Lives" actor was arrested on Tuesday by Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Patton, 20, was served a search warrant at his family's home where an unspecified amount of cocaine was seized. Patton faces one count of possession for sale of a controlled substance.

ABC 15 reported that since Patton's Agoura Hills home is next to an elementary school, he will also be charged with selling drugs within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.

Police discovered Patton's drug distribution by sending an undercover agent to purchase the drugs according to the Examiner.

The young actor played the role of Will Horton from 2009-2010 of the soap opera and appeared in more than 100 episodes. He played the son of "Days of Our Lives" character Sami Brady, played by actress Alison Sweeny according to People.

His role as Will Horton earned him a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for outstanding young actor in a drama series in 2010. The Examiner reported that the actor was fired from the show however it is unknown whether it was due to drug related issues, he later addressed his termination in an interview.

In an interview in 2010, Patton stated that he had no warning from the show's producers when he was fired. The actor said that the show simply decided to replace him with another actor.

"It came as a shock to me. I don't know, they do it all the time," Patton said. He also admitted that despite his Daytime Emmy nomination things were "slow" for him, and he struggled to find other work.

ABC 15 alleged that prosecutors will ask for bail to be set at $30,000, if convicted Dylan Michael Patton could face up to nine years in prison.
