On Wednesday Nine Inch Nails Bassist Eric Avery announced that he will not be joining the band on their 2013-14 world tour. Eric Avery quit the band and made the announcement via Facebook.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nine Inch Nails front man Trevor Renzor unveiled a live lineup back in February that included Avery along with King Crimson's Adrian Belew, Telefon Tel Aviv's Josh Eustis, Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin.
Eric Avery was initially apart of Jane's Addiction and following the breakup he rejoined the band in 2008. However last year the bassist was on the road with Garbage, supporting their fifth album, "Not Your Kind of People."
Avery pulled out of Nine Inch Nails after he was feeling overwhelmed by the tour schedule. On his Facebook page, he wrote, "Its with very mixed emotions I tell you all that im pulling out of NIN."
"I know. Its been a tough call and I don't know if its the right one. But I really want to focus on my musical life here in la, on film work in particular. As the tour dates kept growing... I just got overwhelmed," he added. "I just got home from a year of heavy travel with garbage, the idea of leaving town for another year and a half, and with all the intensity that nails demands... fortunately my friend Trent understands all this and appreciated my pulling the plug now instead of deep into 2013 and 14. go get em gentlemen."
The band is scheduled to perform on July 26th in Naeba, Japan, before hitting the states for Lollapalooza in August.
Now fans are left to wonder who will fill the vacancy of the bassist.
