Ashlee Simpson has returned back to the spotlight! Jessica Simpson's little sister made a stunningly dramatic entrance to the premiere of the 2013 American Ballet Theatre Opening Night Spring Gala at Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday.

The singer donned an all-black floor length lace backless dress by Alice + Olivia with feather detailing at the waist. She accessorized her look with emerald green earrings and a compact cylinder metallic clutch.

The star chose to sweep her blonde locks into a wavy ponytail and flaunted the dress' backless feature by facing away from the cameras and exposing her back side.

The 28-year old mom to 4-year old Bronx who Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz fathered, walked the premiere solo. According to Us Weekly, she split from "Boardwalk Empire" actor Vincent Piazza back in November 2012.

Despite her fumbles in the past Wentz had nothing but good things to say about his ex, last month he gushed to Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" that Ashlee Simpson is a good mom.

"I feel like we both realize that we're parents and we're in it for our kid. That's made it really easy."

"I feel like, as a mom, she's awesome. She's an awesome mom and we get along really well when it comes to our kid now."
