According to TMZ actor Terrence Howard has finally reached a settlement in his bitter divorce battle against ex Michelle Ghent.

Ghent filed for divorce back in February of 2011, just a year after their marriage. During the court filings the two accused one another of physical and verbal abuse according to TMZ.

Ghent accused Howard, 44 of viciously beating her during the course of their marriage while the actor told the courts that she was a disgusting racist.

In the settlement, Howard will keep his two homes and a Range Rover in which Ghent must return back to him. Over the next three years the actor is set to pay Michelle Ghent $5,800 a month in spousal support.

Howard was quite victorious in the divorce settlement as Ghent only walked away with a bike and a BMW.

While going through the courts Ghent revealed that the honeymoon period of her and Howard's relationship did not last long.

According to the dailybeast.com about a week after their marriage Ghent discovered her husband had a second cell phone and the confrontation resulted in a nasty fight.

"In her court declaration, Michelle Ghent Howard says her new husband "slugged" her in the face and neck. "

However the actor has said that "it was his wife who struck him and called him racial slurs throughout their marriage."

The proceedings to the divorce were filled with a bunch of he saids, she saids. "In a nutshell, Michelle Ghent Howard says Terrence Howard calls, texts, emails, and Skypes her at all hours of the day and night, and threatens to do her physical harm."

"Terrence Howard, in turn, says she harasses him and has been threatening to ruin his career by releasing audio recordings he had made of conversations with other people in his life before he met her."

"On Dec. 5, a judge granted Michelle Ghent Howard a restraining order based on her claims that Terrence Howard has caused her physical injuries that required medical attention."

Luckily the two are finally divorced and no longer have to deal with one another. Ghent's restraining against Howard is expected to expire next week however she has no plans on making the order permanent.
