In the latest episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 4, "The Walking Dead" we see a lot of twisted events and old faces that should have been left in the past. Check out this recap of episode 22 as we catch you up on what you missed Thursday night.

In the episode "The Walking Dead" we come to find Elena training with Stefan to kill Katherine. However she soon figures out that Stefan is not going to help her defeat Katherine and she retreats to Caroline who invited her to send out graduation announcements.

Meanwhile, Katherine unwillingly tags along with Bonnie (Bonnie binds herself to Katherine) in order to keep her mind safe in an attempt to drop the veil. Bonnie eventually drops the veil of the Expression Triangle and we see the dead return to Mystic falls.

Meanwhile we see Damon and Stefan in the hospital speaking with Sheriff Forbes who informs them that five patients have been drained of blood. The brothers worry as they realize Silas is fueling up for something big.

Kol, Alaric, and Jeremy all return from the dead. Kol is of course after Elena seeking vengeance while Alaric is back to help his best friend Damon who Elena coincidently stabbed in an attempt to get to Katherine.

Silas is back up to his mind games, as Bonnie drops the veil she thinks she is being joined by her friend Caroline when in fact it is Silas. Meanwhile Caroline is in the storage room of the Mystic Grill slitting her wrist.

In the process of dropping the veil Bonnie gave Katherine more distance to travel from their bind so she can search the cave after she hears a noise. The noise turns out to be Elena who stakes Katherine, an excruciating pain which Bonnie feels being the two are spellbound together.

Just when she is about to make the kill Stefan comes in knocking Elena away from Katherine revealing that by killing her she would have killed her best friend, Bonnie in the process. Elena then punches Stefan in the face after he tells her to face her grief rather than killing Katherine and she flees from the cave.

Bent on getting revenge Kol finds Elena crying at Jeremy's grave. The new vamp cries to her brother about not being able to go on without him and her worry of not feeling fulfilled if she goes through with killing Katherine.

It is then that Kol finds Elena and begins beating her within an inch of her vampire life until little brother Jeremy shows up from beyond the grave towing a cross bow in hand. As Kol goes to attack Jeremy Stefan spontaneously shows up and snaps his neck.

Fleeing to Elena's side Jeremy looks over his sister as she reaches for his touch to make sure he is real. Upon confirming that he is truly there Elena buries herself in her brother's embrace.

Did we mention that our favorite witch Bonnie killed herself? Not on purpose of course but yes our little spell caster died before she restored the veil.

Attempting to do a spell in which she believed could help Jeremy permanently stay in the real world, it turns out the witch was not strong enough.

Her grandmother, Shelia Bennett warns Bonnie not to go through with the spell but the young witch was confident she had the power to follow through. When her body simply cannot take anymore power rushing throughout it she collapses on the floor.

When Bonnie finally awakes her grandmother tells her how sorry she is and then shows the witch her lifeless body on the ground. Yes Bonnie is dead but the veil is still down, is there hope for her yet?
