As previously reported it was rumored that Emma Stone was close to inking a deal to star in Woody Allen's next upcoming film. According to Deadline, on Tuesday it became official that Stone and Colin Firth are signed on to star in Allen's next untitled comedy.
Emma Stone and boyfriend Andrew Garfield are currently in New York shooting their upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" film.
Deadline reports that this will be Allen's second time filming in France and eighth time in Europe. His 2011 fantasy comedy "Midnight in Paris" won an Academy Award for screenplay and was nominated for three others including best picture and best director for Allen.
USA Today reported that no further details were released about the upcoming film including a release date. Apparently Woody Allen is being very secretive about the untitled comedy however it is confirmed that the film will be shot in the South of France.
Andrew Garfield was recently spotted in Manhattan on the set of the "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" with fellow actor Jamie Foxx. Garfield was wearing the iconic superhero's blue and red suit and dashed in front of cameras as he filmed rescue scenes for the upcoming set. Notably missing from the set was Garfield's on-screen and off-screen leading lady Emma Stone. Not to worry, the couple has not parted ways, the actress was simply not a part of the scenes that were being shot at the time.
The highly anticipated sequel to 2012's "The Amazing Spider-Man" is expected to hit theaters in 2014.
