Despite telling E! News back in February that she was ready to begin growing her hair long, 32 year-old actress, Michelle Williams has made another big chop.

The star was photographed at the Kate Young for Target Launch in NYC rocking an even shorter new haircut. Many media outlets are comparing Williams' hair to that of singer Miley Cyrus, who also drastically changed her look from long blonde tresses to a blonde pixie cut. Williams' blonde hair was clipped super short on the right, with side-swept long fringe that fell over her face.

In 2011, Michelle explained why she decided to cut her hair in the first place, referring to her late ex-fiancé Heath Ledger: "I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it."

Williams has worn her hair short for a while, but with any look, one can grow tired of the same style and earlier this year, Michelle spoke about the need for tog row out her hair. "It's on its way, slowly but surely," Michelle said, adding that the growing-out process is slow and tedious. "That's why I've stayed with short hair for so long. . . The mid-stage is insufferable. It's really hard on your self-esteem."

Michelle certainly seems to have had a change of heart. The actress' outfit looked gorgeous as she debuted her new-do, wearing a pair of satin navy blue shorts, a black top with see-through polka dot accents, a black and white blazer, and pair of black platform pumps.
